But they all say He was just a wise teacher but not God.
He can't be both.

A Proud Man

A proud man is always looking down on people and things. As long as you are looking down you will not see what is above you.Pride will keep us from God. We must die to self and pride before we can know the saving grace of our Lord and savior. The world tells us that we should love ourselves, but Christ sayswe should love Him and others above all else. That means we are to become last and He is to become first. The Choice

"He was despised and rejected by men." Isaiah 53:3
Another reason why Christ was despised and rejected, was because He exposed and denounced sin. Ah, this explains why Christ was not wanted here. He was a constant thorn in their sides! His holiness condemned their unholiness! Men wish to go their own way, to please themselves, to gratify their lusts. They want to be comfortable in their wickedness--therefore they resent one who searches the heart, pierces the conscience, and rebukes their evil. Christ was absolutely uncompromising. He would not wink at wrong-doing, but unsparingly denounced it, in whoever it was found. He boldly affirmed, "For judgment I have come into this world" (John 9:41), that is, to unveil men's secret characters, to prove they are blind in spiritual things, to demonstrate they loved darkness rather than light. His Person and preaching tried everything and everyone He came into contact with!
Each and every one of us must make his own mind for or against Christ. We must decide for ourselves. Nobody can do this for us. There is no gray area according to Christ. No choice, is a choice. The gospel saves, everything else condemns. Remember the baby in the manger, He will be the one that will judge the world. Merry Christmas,

Prayer 2

We don't pray as we should but when tough times come we think God should answer us at that very moment. It is like a child that will not give you the time of day but only come to you when they need something. Go to God in prayer in the good time and the bad. Give Him the glory and praise He deserves, He gave you His Son.

Grace abounds

What abounding grace has been thus displayed to a creature so completely vile;so destitute of all ground of hope or claim in himself!What an amount of guilt has He pardoned! As we go through this Christmas season we should realize why we call Jesus our Savior.
The baby in the manger came to this earth to die for you and me. He died so that we may live. He gave His all so that we could come before the almighty God one day as a pardoned creature. When we realize how bad off we are without a savior, we will look at the birth of Christ in a different light.

God's wrath

Watering down God's wrath dilutes God's love-Unknown Too many Christians today will not tell others about hell and judgment. They say they don't want to scare others away from Christianity. What then did Jesus save us from? He saved us from the wrath of God, the God that tells us if we sin against Him we will be cast into hell. When we realize what we are saved from, by the blood of Jesus Christ, our love for Him will grow also. We will want to do the things that He has commanded us to do, not because we have to do them but because we want to please Him for all He has done for us. We will repent from our sins, not because we are sorry we got caught, but that we have sinned against God.
When we realize the outcome of a person that dies without Christ, our willingness to share the gospel will grow. Every person that dies will only go to heaven or hell. Ask someone today this question,"If you died tonight where would you go,Heaven or Hell?" Don't stop there, no matter what their answer ask them WHY,you will be surprised at the answers.

Leftovers

As I was finishing Exodus this morning, I came across another verse that stood out. As Moses told Israel to give to the tabernacle, God tells us to give to His kingdom. They gave so much that Moses had to tell them to stop giving. In today's time it is just the opposite. The preacher has to beg and plead with the people of the church to give to Gods kingdom with their time or money. When people do give they give the leftovers. God tells us to put Him first in our lives but so many times we give Him our time or money only if we have some left after doing the things we want to do.
Exodus 36:6-7
6 So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing, 7 for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done—indeed too much.

Strenth

I have been reading through the book of Exodus this month and came across a few verses that I would like to share.
Exodus 33:11 So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.
Exodus 33:14 And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
God is not far off in heaven , He is with us always. He will not forsake us or leave us, He paid too big of a price to do that. When we think we have come to an impossible task in life I ask you to remember this verse.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ[a] who strengthens me.

Instuctions

People do not want to hear that Christ is the only way, that they are sinners in need of a savior, or that they should focus only on Christ and not the world. Don't bow down to please man, but please God in all that you do and say.
What if you were given two sets of instructions on how to put a swing set together. Would you want the correct set or the one that leaves out the parts you don't want to do? We are to give the true instructions of the gospel, and hope and pray that they come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Look for the Bright side

The habit of resignation is the root of peace. A godly child has a ring given him by his mother, and he greatly prized it, but on a sudden he unhappily lost his ring, and he cried bitterly. God has a purpose for things happening in our lives, we just have to figure out what He wants us to do. We are all guilty of wondering why things happen to us, but what we should be doing is finding out how to use the situation to give glory to God. Why we complain

Hello everyone, No, I didn't take you off my morning list. I have been very busy lately, but that is still no excuse. In the last few days I have had my house broken into, gone to a wreck in the middle of the night where a young man lost his life, and this morning I was called out to fight a fire where my relatives lost their barn full of farm equipment. So many times in life we think we have it tough. We get stuck in our own little world and don't see the big picture. I was upset to have some things taken from my home but the more I think about it the more I thank God for what I have. My family is OK, I have a place to lay my head at night, and most of all I have the Holy Spirit guiding me every day. No matter how bad things may get in this life, it is a comfort to know that with Christ we can do all things and He will be with us through it all.

Tempt

It is not if we will be tempted but what we do when we are tempted. God says He will not let us be tempted beyond what we can handle. That means that in every situation that we get in there is a way out. The longer we hang around though, the tougher it will be to leave the object that is tempting us.

If you know certain things that tempt you don't go near them. The beginning of temptatin is not the start of the act but the thought of it. When something comes across your mind, that is the real battle. It is better to put out a camp fire than let it become a forest fire and then try to put it out.

Some people always say trouble follows them. In most cases they follow trouble. Don't go where you shouldn't go, stay away from things and people that seem to get you into trouble. Most of all, keep Christ as your main focuss in all that you do. We can't fight this battle alone, without Christ it is impossible.

Imitate God

Go to church

God has, in great mercy, given us a day, one day in seven, wherein to rest, and to think of holy things. There were seven days that God had in the week. They show up at church for one hour a week and live like the world the rest of the time. We should remember that it is not man we are to please but Christ should be our motive behind all that we do. He see's all that we do , He knows your heart, thoughts, and deeds. Your belong to Christ if you are a Christian. Your were bought for a price, a price that you could not pay yourself. Christ died for you and me, He saved us from the wrath of God. Christ gave us a new life, a life to be lived for Him. We should all ask ourselves, if our lives ,are growing towards Christ or are we the same as we have always been? The WORLD we once loved-- is now a crucified thing. The PLEASURES we once indulged-- have lost their charm. The SINS we once committed-- are now loathed and forsaken.

The SOCIETY we once enjoyed-- no longer attracts or pleases.


The walk and conversation of a renewed man, will be the outward and visible reflection of an inward and visible grace." Behold! he is a new creature; old things have passed away; all things have become new!"

Remember, If you can't do it in front of Christ, Don't do it. The truth is you are always before Christ, always remember that.

DRINKING

I abstain myself from alcoholic drink in every form, and I think others would be wise to do the same; but of this each one must be a guide unto himself. Charles SpurgeonThis is a subject that most don't like to talk about, but has been put upon my heart to share with you all. It has become acceptable for the youth of this nation to be allowed to drink alcohol. People overlook the problem as kids will be kids and we cant stop them. Another excuse is , we want them to be safe when they drink so we will host parties at our homes so they wont drink and drive. So many will say, it's just alcohol, nobody will get hurt. I have been a Vol. Fire fighter for many years and I am here to tell you that is the biggest lie people tell themselves. I have seen body's of teens crushed and mangled beyond recognition.When I get a call in the middle of the night to go to a wreck the first thing that goes through my mind is , will it be one of my youth or some other teen that I know. Lives of families torn to pieces because of liquid in a bottle. People that have thrown their lives away that had a lot of potential. Other things like unwanted pregnancies are just a few things that can happen. People will still try to justify their actions but what should a Christian do? Yes, it does say that people drank in the Bible, but you will not find a verse where it says you can get drunk. In fact, it says that drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of heaven along with liars and thieves. As a Christian you are to be an example unto others. Even if you just drink once in a while, ask yourself who's watching you. A young person, that can't drink just one, starts because they look up to you and say it must be OK. We can't pick and choose what part of the Bible to follow. No one said being a Christian would be easy. You are either 100% Christian or your not a Christian at all. People say their is not right or wrong answers to life's questions anymore, but I say there is. You can find them all in Gods Holy Word.
We should all ask ourselves, would Jesus be pleased if He say me doing these things. We all sin every day but we should be becoming less sinful everyday if Christ is in us.

Fathful

We are not faithful in what is given to us, and if the one talent often lies wrapped in a napkin, how can we expect to have five or ten entrusted to us? C.H. SPURGEON God gives everyone of us a gift to show praise to Him. Most of the time we don't use our gift, we want someone else's gift. If we would open our hearts and mind's to what God tells us to do we will be satisfied with the blessings He has given us. When we use these gifts that He has bestowed upon He will entrust us with more tools to Help us glorify Him more. Use the gifts God has given you, He gave them to you for a special reason.

This weekend the movie "Fireproof" comes out. We as Christians have the Bible that gives us the instructions and guidance to make it through the fires of life. But if we don't read it, we will be consumed by these fires.
We get comfortable with our lives and think we can handle it all, until God shows us who is really in control. When we have Gods word we can understand why we get burned in this life. It is better to be burned and learn a lesson than to walk into a burning building and not fear the fire and perish.
Remember, If you don't read the Bible, it's just another book. When you open it up and read the words of God, it becomes your life.

Live a Life for Christ

We should all ask ourselves what we are living for, or better yet who are we living for. Are we living for ourselves or are we living to serve and praise the Lord that created us? Look at your lives and ask yourself if what you are doing with your life is worth Christ dying for you. We can't ever do enough to repay what Christ did for us, but we can live our lives for Him.

Dirty

God never clothes men until He has first stripped them, nor does He quicken them by the gospel till first they are slain by the Law. When you meet with persons in whom there is no trace of conviction of sin, you may be quite sure that they have not been wrought upon by the Holy Spirit; for 'when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.'" If you have been working in the yard all day in a the hot sun you will be dirty. Your clothes will probably smell and feel nasty. Would you go put on new cloths over your old ones before you go to out on the town. I would say no.

When we are saved by Christ he will strip us of our unrighteousness and clothes use with His righteousness. We first must be cleaned of our filth or the smallest amount of sin will show it's ugly head once again. Christ will clean you of anything but you must go to Him in repentance and put ALL your trust in Him.

The Pardon of Sin

1 Peter 2:19-21 (New King James Version)
19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us,[a] leaving us[b] an example, that you should follow His steps:
Imitation is not salvation. But salvation brings imitation. Christ did not come here first to be an example but to be a savior. As Christians we first receive the pardon of Christ, then we follow the pattern of Christ.
Only when we have the pardon of Christ, can He become a pattern for us. When Christ saves someone they are transformed into a person who will act like Christ. Not like Him in pardoning, but like Him in loving.Like Him in suffering to do good to others. Like Him in not repaying evil for evil. Like Him in lowliness and meekness. Like Him in patient endurance. Like Him in servanthood. Jesus suffered for us uniquely, that we might suffer with Him in the cause of love.
Our suffering for others does not remove the wrath of God from us. It shows the value of having the wrath of God removed by the suffering of Christ. It points people to Him. But if we are like the world it points people away from Him also.
Remember, we are to imitate His love, but not take His place.

Good Works

Titus 3:14 (New King James Version)14 And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful.
Good works are not our foundation of salvation but the fruit of it. We are saved for good works not by good works. Christ does not give us the mere ability to do good works, but the passion to do them. We should hunger to serve Him through doing good works for others. Christ did not die to have half hearted Christians dreading to do His work. He died to produce in us a passion for good works. Gods is shown to be glorious by the good deeds of Christians. We should ask ourselves daily if we are bringing glory to God or are we just claiming the Christian title. When Gods forgiveness and acceptance have freed us from pride and greed, we are filled with joy and love. We want to share the love that Christ has shown us. It does not have to be a disaster for us to help others, we should be helping others daily. We may see something we do for others as small or meaningless, but God will us it for His glory. Remember, when we help others in their times of need, they get help, we get joy, and God gets all the glory!

A lie

A preacher was to preach on honesty and he told everyone to read Joshua 25. The next Sunday he came and said,"How many read it?" Half the hands in the church were raised. He said ,"Great. Now you're the ones I need to talk to. Joshua has only twenty-four chapters, and I am especially concerned about you tonight." Honesty is leaving this world. People are suprized when someone tells the truth or does what they say they are going to do. The sad part is that so called Christians are no different from everyone else. Some will say that it is OK to lie in business deals or other things to get ahead. Is that right? I hope you said no, because I can't find it in the Bible were is says it's OK to lie. The ninth commandment says we shall not lie. It doesn't say, Sometimes it is OK, or every now and then we can lie about something. We only have to lie once and we are guilty before God and deserve to go to hell. Think about all the lies you have said in your life. That is just one of the ten commandments, what about the other nine? When you think about how many of them you have broken, you will see how great God's grace is for forgiving you of your sins if, you have repented and put your trust in Christ. We still fall into sin but we don't leap into sin every day. We should see sin as filth and run from it. Check yourself daily to see if you are headed in the right direction. The Church and the World

This is a simple quote that we all need to look at. We, as followers of Christ, need to be different from the world. We are to be examples to others of the way Christ wants us to live. How can we do this if we act like the world ourselves. We are to be in the world to share the gospel but the world should not influence the gospel. Being a Christian is not easy but knowing we have the love of Christ makes it worth anything we may go through.

FAITH

Your faith ought to get you in trouble at times. If everybody thinks you are nuts, you may be. It's OK if some think you are. You're probably in trouble if no one thinks you are. Has anyone called you a bible thumper, Jesus freak, or something of that nature lately? When we stand up for Christ we will be made fun of or called all sorts of names for believing in Christ. If this has not happened to you yet, you are probably staying in a group of believers instead of stepping out into the world of unbelievers. Step out of your comfort zone and find a nonbeliever. If they come to know Christ, laugh in your face, or say nothing at all , praise God. It is scary to start the conversation but it is a blessing to finish it.

Bible

Old Charles Spurgeon puts in everyday terms, that is why I like his writings so well. This is one of my favorite quotes of his because it is a wake up call for all Christians not to neglect the word of God and what are the consequences of it. How can we defend something if we haven't even read it ourselves?

If this be the Word of God, what will become of some of you who have not read it for the last month? “Month, sir! I have not read it for this year." Ay, there are some of you who have not read it at all. Most people treat the Bible very politely. They have a small pocket volume, neatly bound, they put a white pocket-handkerchief around it, and carry it to their places of worship. The easiest way to see this happening is in politics. A politician will tell one group of people he believes in Christianity and tell another group their religion is correct to. When any of us compromise our beliefs in Christ to get ahead in this world, it is a sin. Be a person that people know where you stand in your faith and morals. I can respect a person who claims to be a atheist and acts like it better than a man who claims to be a Christian and shows no sign of it.
Whatever you do in this life, don't let your walk with Christ be compromised to get ahead in this world or to fit in with a certain crowd.

Shaw We see all these celebrities and presidential candidates on T V and put them up on some high horse. A lot of people even worship them in one way or another as if they are something special. My question is what have they done for you to deserve this and in Gods eye's how are they the same as you? God is the only one we should hold up on high. No person or thing should come between you and Him.Everyone will have to go before God on judgment day. That includes world leaders, movie star's, famous people, all the way down to the lowest person in society. Everyone must repent from their sins, put their trust and faith in Christ alone. God see's when He looks upon this earth only two kinds of people, the saved and the damned.

The Race

The difference between God's side and the devil's is the difference between heaven and hell. God keeps no half- way house. It's either heaven or hell for you and me. A man can slip into hell with his hand on the door-knob of heaven. Billy Sunday We as Christians need to get of the fence of the world and make our minds up who we are going to serve. We what to go to heaven but we want the pleasures of the world also. We can't have it both ways. Christ wants all of you all the time . We don't get time outs to do whatever we want and then go back to worshiping Christ! Whats it gonna be, a life for Christ or a life of self and destruction? One thing is for certain, we all start the race of life but the question is , where will you finish? Check yourselves daily to see if you are in the faith. If you see a brother or sister in Christ not walking in the ways of the Lord, lead them back to the straight and narrow path that leads to Christ.

Train your child

To train a boy in the way he should go you must go that way yourself.Don't stop with telling your boy to do right. Show him how.Be careful, father, or while you are taking one lap around the devil's track your boy will make six.
We are the ones our children look up to in this world. If you live a sinful life, don't be surprised when your children follow the same path. The Lord has given us a responsibility to raise up our children in a Christian home with Biblical principles. We are not to drop our kids of at church while we go do whatever pleases us. If church isn't important enough for mom and dad why should the children go? Church is not a baby sitter, it is a place to praise and worship the Lord Jesus Christ that died for our retched sins.
If the parents go out and party all the time what does the child think is right? If the parents swear like sailors, what should the child think is right? If the parents cheat on their spouse, what does the child think is right? Remember that your children look up to you more than you think. They have plenty of friends but they have only two parents. When we don't walk the straight and narrow way ourselves, we give the devil the biggest kind of a chance to get our children!

You know the people Spurgeon is talking about here. The ones that every other word out of their mouth is blaspheming God. Some of them even claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, how can this be? We can not do both. We either lift His name up in praise and worship as our Savior or we stay in our sins as we drag His name through the mud and filth of the world. God even made one of the ten commandments to tell us not to use His name in any way that would bring dishonor to it. One slip of the tongue can hurt your witness for the Lord. Be a witness for the Lord in all that you say or do.

It is not just gossip that goes along with this quote. One way to know if you are doing something you shouldn't is ask yourself this question. Am I OK with everyone seeing me or hearing me do or say this? What about God? He see's us 24/7, He even knows our thoughts, scary isn't it! You don't know who is watching you to see how a Christian should live. Don't cause people to stumble in their walk or give them even more reasons to say Christians are just like the rest of the world.
Ask yourself this, am I living my life for me or Christ?
Gods mercy is, not giving us what we deserve. Gods grace is giving us what we don't deserve.

Repentance

When a child is burned by the fire, he will likely not touch it again. He has learned that it is painful and dangerous to him. Before , he saw the flames as attractive and pleasing to the site but after he touched , and realized its danger, he feared it.The same goes with sin. Before we come to the Lord we sin as if nothing is wrong. We role around in sin as a pig does in mud.When we come to the Lord through repentance and faith, we start to see sin for what it is.We run from sin, we realize when we sin it is against God and God alone that we have done wrong. We start to hate sin, and ask the Lord to wash us clean of anything that may be displeasing to Him. We start to see the filth in the world for what it is when the light of Jesus Christ is shined upon it. We stumble into sin everyday but we don't stay there. We are to repent everyday and ask the Lord to lead us away from anything that is not pleasing to Him. If there is some sin in your life that is holding you back, go to the Lord and ask Him to wash it from you and help you to stay clear of it again. Remember, the word repentance means to turn. It does not mean to go sideways, back up or stand still, but to turn and go the other direction, the direction of Christ.

The word repentance means to turn from, to change ones mind. When we turn from ourselves and give it all to God, that is repentance. When the direction of our lives does a 180, that is repentance. When we seek a redirection in our lives in lifestyle and relationship with God, that's repentance. We see that when we sin, we sin against God and God alone and there is nothing we can do but fall at His feet and ask Him to change our lives, that is repentance. If there is something in your life that is separating you from God, repent from it and turn everything over to the Lord. Remember, with God it is all or nothing.

Gossip

We all know how bad bacteria that infects our body,that can't be stopped by medicine, can be. But we ignore the bacteria of gossip in the body of Christ. Nothing can so quickly eat the flesh of the church as sins of the tongue: slanders,criticism, of leaders and bad reports. This goes not only for church but our everyday lives whether we are at work, play, or any other function. When we gossip about others we set a bad example for others. We put a black eye on the witness of Christ. People that may have trusted you can loose faith in you too keep secrets and not come to you in their times of need. Why can't we spread the gospel of Jesus Christ as fast as we can spread gossip about others. This is a problem we all face just like they did in the times of Christ, and it will be hear until He returns. Let us not feed the fire of gossip, and let us be an example to others in this world.

A Christian should look at this quote and think why they do they things they do in this world. When we look at every situation that we come across as an opportunity to please God we will do it no matter what others think. That should be our objective in all that we do, whether it be family, job, or helping our fellow man. When you do something for the Lord it doesn't matter what others think. What God see's is the only thing that will matter in the end.

Poets and painters have portrayed Satan as a hideouscreature--with horns and hoofs. If I were a poet, I would describe him with . . . manners polished to the last perfection, hair flowing in graceful ringlets, eye glistening with splendor; hands soft and diamonded; step light and graceful; voice mellow as a flute; conversation articulate and eloquent; breath perfumed until it would seem that nothing had ever touched his lips, but balm and myrrh. But his heart I would encase with the scales of a monster, then filled . . . with pride, with beastliness of lust, with recklessness, with hypocrisy, with death, with damnation! This is so true. If we saw the devil as he really was we would never fall into his trap. When Adam and Eve were in the garden he did not scare them into eating the apple, he made it look wonderful and attractive. The devil uses all the pleasures of the world to pull you away from Christ. Keep your eyes and ears open and be ready at all times because the angel of light is near.

We should live our lives to reflect Christ in all that we do. As a Christian you are a witness for Christ 24/7. Don't do things right just because someone is looking, do what is right because your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ loved you enough to die for your sins. We should be living everyday to please Him and reach for Holiness every day. There is nothing we can do to ever repay Christ for the sacrifice that He made, but we can live our lives for Him in everything we do.

Forgive

Bitterness, anger, and regret are not part of Gods plan for your life. Forgiveness is. One way to forgive someone is to pray for them daily. It is hard to stay mad at someone if you pray for them. We can do all the things in the world for others but if love is not in it, we are wasting our time. Did you know you can even witness for the wrong reasons. Sometimes we will share our faith to prove someone wrong. We are to show people their mistakes in not believing in the one true God; but we are to tell them because we love them and we don't want them to go to hell, not to show them up. Check your motives in everything you do and ask yourselves why you do them.
Remember, it's not what you do it's why you do it that matters to God.

Every day we have on this earth is a gift from God. Every breath that we breath is a gift that we do not deserve, but His grace is overflowing. Be thankful of what He has done in your life and look for ways to use the gifts He has given you to bless others. Even when bad things happen to us, we should look for the ways that God can be lifted up in times of despair. We must learn to be content with Christ. If you lost everything you had, would you be content with Christ?
That is a challenging question that my pastor ask us last night at church. It puts things in perspective and opened my eyes a little wider to the greatness of our God.

In life we go through stages. We easly foget were we have been and were we are heading. When we look at others we get frustrated when they don't act the way we want them to, but we forget we were problably the same way. We look at the older generation and think that they move too slow, or complain too much. When maybe we should listen to what they have to say and pray that God will allow us to get old ourselves. Remember were you have been and were you are going before you complain about someone. It will allow you to be more patient.

Discouragment

It was advertized that the devil was going to put his tools up for sale. On the day of the sale all his tools were placed for public inspection, each being marked with its sale price. There were many awful tools, Hatred, Envy, Jealousy, Doubt, Lying, Pride, and so on. Laying to the side was a very worn out tool that looked very harmless but was very expensive. One of the purchasers asked," what the name of that tool".The devil said "that's Discouragement.""Why is it priced so high?" "Because it's more useful to me than the others. I can pry open and get inside a person's heart with that one, when I cannot get near him with other tools. Now once I get inside, I can make him do what I choose. It's a badly worn tool , because I use it in almost everyone since few people know it belongs to me."- John Lawrence

When we are around others we can encourage or we can discourage them. When we put others down, there is no telling what the outcome will be. When someone is going through tough times, be there for them. We should always look for ways to lift people up, to help others reach their potential. The most important thing we can encourage a person to do is to turn their lives over to Christ. Without Christ in our lives it can be very discouraging. There is no hope without Him in our lives. When people see they are here for a reason and God has a reason for there lives that is the most encouraging news a person can hear. Knowing that Christ loves them and He will never leave them if they repent from their sins and surrender their live over to Him is very encouraging!

If you have Jesus Christ as your savior there is nothing you should fear. We know as Christians, God promise that all things work for good according to His purpose. We are to look at each day as a gift from God, give Him thanks for allowing us to serve Him. If we as Christians mope around all the time, are we example of people that are grateful people saved from a eternity of hell? The joy of Christ should be what we are focused on no matter what life may dish out. As a Christian people are watching you everyday. Let your light shine that Christ gave you, don't cover it up.

When we open our mouths, we can be a positive example to people or we can be a negative. It is scary to think about how powerful the tongue can be. We can use it for good or for evil. We can use it to build someone up or we can use it to tear somebody's life apart. We can use it to spread the Gospel or we can scatter rumors and gossip among others. The tongue has started wars, it has caused peace. You have two choices today when you open your mouth. Which will it be, blessings or cursing? Use your Bible

Perhaps there is no book more neglected in these days than the Bible. I do verily believe there are more mouldy Bibles in this world than there are of any sort of neglected books. We have stillborn books in abundance; we have innumerable books which never see any circulation except the circulation of the butter shop, but we have no book that is so much bought, and then so speedily laid aside, and so little used, as the Bible.-Charles Spurgeon

I never thought about how the Bible is the most published book, but also the most neglected book in the world. So many people by a Bible to put it up on a shelf or on the coffee table as if it is a part of the furniture. As Spurgeon said, "There is enough dust on peoples Bibles that you can right the word damned in it."
Also another quote by Spurgeon,
If my compass always points to the North, I know how to use it; but if it veers to other points of the compass, and I am to judge out of my own mind whether it is right or not, I am as well without the thing as with it. If my Bible is right always, it will lead me right; and as I believe it is so, I shall follow it.
The only way you can tell if a stick is bent is to hold it up to a strait one. The same goes for the world. When we want to know if something is right or wrong we go to Gods word.

In a cotton factory, there was a card on the walls of the workrooms that read: “If your threads get tangled send for the foreman.” One day a new worker got her threads tangled, and she tried to disentangle them, but only made them worse. Pray Always

Prayer is the most important thing you can do every day. So many people only pray when they need something or come across a difficult time in their lives. As Paul wrote, "we should pray without ceasing". When we don't go to God in prayer we are saying that we can handle our everyday lives on our own. I learn everyday that I need God in every second of my life and without Him I am nothing. God tells us to pray so that we will come to Him and need Him in everything we do in our lives. If you haven't started praying everyday, start today. It is not just something you do, it is a one on one conversation with the one that created you!

Billy Sunday did not cut any corners when he preached. We are all guilty of getting in our comfort zones at times. We get to a certain point in our lives when we think everything is just right.
Just like the fire dept. example in this quote. They may have just bought a brand new truck with all the gear to fight any fire they may come across, but when the town catches on fire they don't want to get their new equipment dirty or damaged. So they stay at the fire station and watch the town burn. Sounds like the churches of today if you ask me. We get all kinds of tools to reach the lost but we stay within the four walls of the church to use them. We are told to seek and save but all we do is sit and stare!
We have the greatest weapon there is to save souls, the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. People think of God as being great and awesome in church. When people step out of church they must think He becomes smaller. God is the same everywhere, that is what we must realize.

What would you say if a doctor went to medical school all his life but did not help a single patient. That is the church of today, when we only site in our churches and don't go into the world and share the saving Grace of Jesus Christ.

Serve

What kind of life do you want to lead? Do you want to live a life that is written in stone forever or one that is scratched in the sand that will be washed away? A purpose worth living and dying for, one that is worth more than anything on this earth. If we are not carful we can let this purpose slip away by being too tired, too busy, and too distracted by all of the worlds problems. We have all at some time or another asked ourselves, why has God put me on this earth at this particular moment in time? Why did He give me certain gifts, a certain personality, and put me in the situation that He did? The biggest question most of us ask is how can I find out Gods purpose in my life? The first thing we should do is give Him all there is of ourselves. You must surrender all over to Christ, He can't be King at all if He cant be King of everything. We should stop thinking of ourselves and think of others out there that need the saving blood of Jesus Christ. When your church ask you to help, don't find an excuse not to do it, find a way, do it for Christ. When you say you are tired, remember, Christ died for you. When you are too busy, remember, Christ died for you. What will matter on the day you die? Serve Christ. Don't wait for a lightning bolt of revelation to figure what to do. Find a need in your church and fill it. Ask yourself, do you just show up at church or are you part of the church. Do it for Christ, He died for you. I can't explain it anymore clearly than that.
Let us give ourselves fully to his work, always looking for His purpose in our live. Knowing that our labor for the Lord will be carved in stone for eternity.

The World And the Church

There are three things can take us down the wrong path of life, they are selfishness,worldliness, and pride. We see these things everywhere in the world today but we are seeing it become very common in our church's. It is getting harder to tell Christians from non-Christians. We want all the pleasures of the world and the righteousness of God. We can't have it both ways, when you seek God you will want less of the world and more of Him. If you draw near to God He will draw near to you. Quit trying to do it your way and do what the Lord tells you to do. Live your life where people will see God's righteousness shining from you. God say's whoever makes himself a friend of the world makes him an enemy of God. Surrender to Christ and give Him control of your life today, before it is to late.

Live for Christ

When we live for Christ we have no fears. Death is no longer your enemy, Christ has defeated death with His sacrifice on the cross. As a Christian you have the assurance that you will be with Christ on the day you leave this world. So many martyrs have had this thought going through their minds when they were told to deny Christ or die. We don't face death very often in this country because of our faith but what would we say if we were confronted with that question? Would we stand up for Christ, the one that died for us, that we may have eternal life. Or would we deny Him so we could save our temporary body's one more time. Think about this, you are put to the test everyday. You may not face life or death situations but you either deny Him or live for Him. When you act like others to fit in or to be liked by the world, are you denying Christ. If you don't tell others about Christ because how it might affect you, are you denying Christ?You either stand up for Christ or you step aside for satan, what's it going to be? The world

Is your church doing the same sinful things as the world, or is your church making a bold stand for Christ? We all are guilty of trying to live on both sides of the fence sometimes. We try to fit in with the crowds but is that the right thing to do? It is not a sin to hang out with a worldly group of people but when you are there do they look at you differently or do you act just like them? When we come to Christ there should be a change in us, we should leave the things of old and despise them. We should be showing others the life we live for Christ is more important than anything else we could ever have. When we live like the world we are telling others that Christ is not good enough for us, that we need something more. Why would someone come to Christ that lives in the ways of the world when they see all these Christians doing the exact same things as themselves? Be bold for Christ, let others see His light shine from you everywhere you go, not just on Sunday morning for an hour. It is a great feeling when people start to act different when you come into a room because you are a bold witness for Jesus Christ. When you light a candle in the middle of the day it doesn't shine very bright. When you light a candle on a moonless night it will shine brightly. On Sunday morning at church we don't shine as bright because of all the other light but when we go out in the world and share our faith in the world our little candle becomes a spot light for the world to see. Remember, you can't sit on the fence of life and have it both ways, satan owns the fence.

Leave Temptation

I do not know who wrote this one but it says a lot in one sentence. We all have done it, say we are going to stop doing something but leave just a little bit of sin in our lives. You can't have it both ways when it comes to turning your life over to Christ. When it comes to Christ, it is all or nothing.Today, take out the pair of scissors called repentance and cut loose that string that is tying you to your sins. Give Christ your all so He may bless you with His all.James 1:12 12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.God bless,Dustin

They blaspheme You; Your enemies take Your name in vain.' Psalm 139:20The hearts of those who fear God are wounded, and their ears are stunned by multitudes, who, on all occasions, take His holy and sacred name in vain, and call for damnation on their own souls! Our streets, our roads, and all our public places are crowded with these diabolical monsters in the shape of men, who seem to have studied the language of the bottomless pit! 'Do not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, because the Lord will punish anyone who takes His name in vain!' Exodus 20:7
As most of you hear everyday, people take the Lord's name in vain. They use it as a four letter curse work over and over again. The same people that say these horrible words will turn right around and talk about what they did at church last week.
People praise God on Sunday and run His name through the mud the rest of the week, what is wrong with that? They have become so accustomed to saying it that they don't even realize what they are doing sometimes.
These are a few things that I do when I hear Gods name used in vain.
1. Ask the person why they think God should damn the someone or something they are talking about? You will get the deer in the headlight look when you say this. As I said before they won't even realize what they are doing until you bring it to their attention.
2. Another way of putting it is, ask them to put their mothers name in place of Gods name. That will open their eye's even more. When we use the God's name like that we show how much we think of Him.
Just about every time I call someone on it they stop cursing around me at least, maybe they do it everywhere else also. It is not me they will have to answer to but God himself one day. I just try to inform them of His word. Stand up for Christ, He died for you!

When people tell God to damn something they better make sure they are not damned themselves!

Little Things

We have our own ideas of what things we should do for the Lord. We are all guilty of wanting to have others see how much we do for the Lord sometimes. We want learn more, not to glorify God but that others may see how much we know. What does God consider to be great thing? Should all of us become preachers, or theology professors? Maybe become a evangelist like Billy Graham or anything else that may be seen by many.All these things are great for some but they are not any more important than what God wants you to do. What about your neighbor that does not know Christ? We know people that are in pain from losing loved ones or others who have health problems and need hope. People that have lost jobs, having problems with their marriages, a kid that does not have any good adult models. Be a shoulder for someone to cry on or a person others can talk to. What we think may not be important may be the greatest thing in Gods eye's.Matthew 6:16-1816 “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Decision

Each of us will make decisions today that will affect our lives. Some may be good decisions, others may be bad but we will have to live with them. We should put Christ in every decision that we make, little or small we should go to Him in prayer. When we try to do anything on our own we will fail but with Christ we will succeed if it be His will. If you are not walking in the faith or you have not come to know the saving Grace of Jesus Christ, you have a very important decision to make today. You can keep walking in the ways of the world and live your life however you want, or surrender yourself to Christ, repent from your sins and live your life for the one that died for you. Your decision today, we may not have a tomorrow. CHURCH WORK

I heard a preacher on the radio talking about people not helping at his church , his is the analogy he gave. The church of today is like a football game. You have 60,000 people that need to get into shape, watching 24 players that need to rest. Just like in sports you have Monday morning quarterbacks saying how they would have done it different or if they were in the game they could have made the wining play. Is your church like this? Are just a few people doing all the work and the rest of them complaining about nothing getting done. What if every member in a church had at least two jobs in the church? Think of what the church could do with too many workers, wow what a thought!People will say, I don't have the time to help. They are saying, the worldly things in my life are more important than helping my church show the light of Christ. Today, ask yourself this question, am I doing my part to help the church or am I one of the 60,000 watching the 24 do all the work. Don't just be a member of a church, be a part of the church.

Worship

This has been very true in my life. I would go to church because it was the thing to do on Sundays. I could see my friends and talk about all the things that went on last week. I would get my weekly sermon in then I was good to go. Someone told me to look at my life and see if I was more holy than I was a year ago. I started looking at my life and did not see any growth because I was not truly worshiping God, I was going through the motions. That was three years ago and I thank God for what He is doing in my life. I like meeting my fellow Christians at church but my main reason for going is to praise and glorify God. When you go to church for that nothing else matters. It doesn't matter who is preaching, who is sitting next to me, what someone said about somebody, what somebody did to somebody, you get the idea. When we focus on God ,He will grow us, He will provide the increase. When you run into problems today focus on the only one that can truly help you, Jesus Christ. Don't make God a option in your life, make Him the reason for living.

Steps

We have all heard this many times in our lives. The problem is we don't do it. We want to jump over everything in between to get to the prize. We want things right now and if we don't get them we give up. In life we go through many trials and hardships. Do we stop and give up on life and God when something bad comes our way or do we keep pushing forward. It may be baby steps for a while but you must keep moving forward. Philippians 3:1414 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.Everything in a Christians life will not be good. But we take these small steps everyday knowing that our goal is to live our lives for Christ so that one day we may be like Paul and say these words.2 Timothy 4:7-87 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.Today, fight the good fight, stand up for Christ, keep walking forward, and live differently from the world.

We see this so much in today's time. People like the idea of going to heaven but don't like the idea of following Christ. People love the things of the world so much that they don't open their eyes to the glorious things of Christ. Jesus offers us eternal life with Him if we repent from our sinful life and trust in Him to save us. We must give up our old lives and die to self and live for Christ. Being a Christian is not easy, we are faced with trials and temptations every day. Some people want just enough Jesus to get into heaven, it doesn't work that way. We are to give Him our all, because He gave us His all.

The Lord Jesus wants us to turn our whole life over to Him, not just part of it. We can't expect to have the blessings of Christ if we give Christ anything less than everything. Our youth at church gave us an example of getting rid of the things in your life that were keeping you from God. We would throw a rock in the bucket of water to symbolize throwing away that barrier that was in our lives between us and God. The problem with most of us today is we try to get the rock back out of the bucket to many times because we throw it in the shallow bucket called self. Throw your rock into the living waters of Christ today and you will be rid of it forever.

In todays time we want everything right now. We think that God has forgotten us sometimes and we think we know when things should happen. As we all know it doesn't work that way. Go to God in prayer every day and ask Him to give you patience and understanding in all that you do.

Honest

Isn't it sad in todays time that if someone found a wallet full of money and returned it to the owner they would be put on the news. But people now look at a honest person as someone out of the ordinary. People will do what ever it takes to make a dollar and do not care what they do to get it. I don't care if you are rich or poor you can be honest. If you tell the truth you don't have to worry about covering anything up. God is omnipresent which means he see's you always, and knows every thought that goes through your head. Just because you got something past someone doesnt mean you got away with it. God knows, and you will be held accountable for it one day. Without the saving blood of Jesus Christ you will go to hell for telling just one lie. We are all over the limit on that one. If you are a Christian and living a dishonest life repent and turn your whole life over to Christ and he will forgive you. If you are not a Christian you have no hope without Christ, you will have to answer on judgement day for ALL your sins. Repent from your sins, read the ten commandments to find out what God's law tells you what sin is. Read Matthew 5 to see how Jesus says that even your thoughts can be sin. Then put your trust in Jesus Christ as you Lord and savior and he will forgive you. Read your Bible daily, and look at yourself every day to see if you are walking in God's light or the devils darkness.

Someone else

It seems like in todays world everybody is worried about what everyone else is doing. It is easy to find something wrong with others but when it comes to ourselves we can't find anything wrong. We should first be concerned with our own home before trying to correct others.
What should concern us the most about others is their walk with Christ. It should be what burdens us the most about people. Where they will spend eternity should be our main concern. If you look at people like that, even your enemy, your attitude will change towards all man.
Remember, a slip of the tongue can last a second, but it may take years for someone to get over.

Bread of Life

We may thrive on the Bread of Life, or starve on the crumbs of this world." unknown We can't have it both ways. We must make a choise in this life to follow Christ or the world. Those who love God must live as he wants them to live. They must not go on sinning; rather, they must love their brothers in Christ not in words but in deeds.We can't just turn our faith on and off when we want to. When you turn your life over to Christ it is all or nothing. You are to work for the Lord 24/7 not just thirty minutes on Sunday morning. You will still fall into sin sometimes but you won't leap into sin if you are a follower of Christ. As a Christian you will love your brothers in Christ, not just the ones that are near you but ALL of them. Anybody can love a friend but can you show love and compassion for the person you dislike the most in this world? That is the true test of your Christian faith

Gosip

Prov. 26:20-2220 For lack of wood a fire goes out.Without gossip, a quarrel dies down. 21 As coals are to hot embers,and wood to fire,so is a contentious man to kindling strife. 22 The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels,they go down into the innermost partsI was going over my lesson that I am teaching my youth this week and came across this verse. We all should take this one to heart because we all do it every day. If we hear something about someone we run to others as fast as we can to share the gossip as fast as we can, not thinking of how it will affect that person or others. When you hear some gossip on someone, let it end with you. Never be the one that keeps it going. Better yet go to the person that told you and ask them if they will go with you and ask the person if this is true. They will usually not do it. What if we shared Christ like that. If we want to talk , why not talk about Christ. What if we told others about the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, how he saved us from our sins, and without Him we would spend eternity in hell. That sounds like something we should be talk about.

Jesus Christ talked to all kinds of people during his ministry on earth. He was mocked,beaten, and killed but he never lifted a hand towards them. He talked to prostitutes, beggars, lepers, and blind people but He stayed the same and they became like Him. Today, be like Christ and let His light shine through you, don't get even because, you never will!

We all make choices every day that can affect the rest of our lives. When we make the wrong choices, it is how we react to them that matters the most. Do we learn from our decision and learn wisdom or do we look the other way and become more foolish.
