The Church and the World

"It is right for the church to be in the world; it is wrong for the world to be in the church. A boat in water is good; that is what boats are for. However, water in the boat will cause it to sink."Harold Lindsell
This is a simple quote that we all need to look at. We, as followers of Christ, need to be different from the world. We are to be examples to others of the way Christ wants us to live. How can we do this if we act like the world ourselves. We are to be in the world to share the gospel but the world should not influence the gospel. Being a Christian is not easy but knowing we have the love of Christ makes it worth anything we may go through.


1 John 2:15-17 (New King James Version)
Do Not Love the World15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
