Serve

What kind of life do you want to lead? Do you want to live a life that is written in stone forever or one that is scratched in the sand that will be washed away? A purpose worth living and dying for, one that is worth more than anything on this earth. If we are not carful we can let this purpose slip away by being too tired, too busy, and too distracted by all of the worlds problems. We have all at some time or another asked ourselves, why has God put me on this earth at this particular moment in time? Why did He give me certain gifts, a certain personality, and put me in the situation that He did? The biggest question most of us ask is how can I find out Gods purpose in my life? The first thing we should do is give Him all there is of ourselves. You must surrender all over to Christ, He can't be King at all if He cant be King of everything. We should stop thinking of ourselves and think of others out there that need the saving blood of Jesus Christ. When your church ask you to help, don't find an excuse not to do it, find a way, do it for Christ. When you say you are tired, remember, Christ died for you. When you are too busy, remember, Christ died for you. What will matter on the day you die? Serve Christ. Don't wait for a lightning bolt of revelation to figure what to do. Find a need in your church and fill it. Ask yourself, do you just show up at church or are you part of the church. Do it for Christ, He died for you. I can't explain it anymore clearly than that.
Let us give ourselves fully to his work, always looking for His purpose in our live. Knowing that our labor for the Lord will be carved in stone for eternity.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.

The World And the Church

"A whole new generation of Christians has come up believing that it is possible to 'accept' Christ without forsaking the world". A.W. Tozer
There are three things can take us down the wrong path of life, they are selfishness, worldliness, and pride. We see these things everywhere in the world today but we are seeing it become very common in our church's. It is getting harder to tell Christians from non-Christians. We want all the pleasures of the world and the righteousness of God. We can't have it both ways, when you seek God you will want less of the world and more of Him. If you draw near to God He will draw near to you. Quit trying to do it your way and do what the Lord tells you to do. Live your life where people will see God's righteousness shining from you. God say's whoever makes himself a friend of the world makes him an enemy of God. Surrender to Christ and give Him control of your life today, before it is to late.

James 4:1-61 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet[a] you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and[b] adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble

Live for Christ

Those who are prepared to die are most prepared to live.

Philippians 1:21For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

When we live for Christ we have no fears. Death is no longer your enemy, Christ has defeated death with His sacrifice on the cross. As a Christian you have the assurance that you will be with Christ on the day you leave this world. So many martyrs have had this thought going through their minds when they were told to deny Christ or die. We don't face death very often in this country because of our faith but what would we say if we were confronted with that question? Would we stand up for Christ, the one that died for us, that we may have eternal life. Or would we deny Him so we could save our temporary body's one more time. Think about this, you are put to the test everyday. You may not face life or death situations but you either deny Him or live for Him. When you act like others to fit in or to be liked by the world, are you denying Christ. If you don't tell others about Christ because how it might affect you, are you denying Christ? You either stand up for Christ or you step aside for satan, what's it going to be? Today, put your all into serving Jesus Christ, because He gave you His all!In Christ name,Dustin

Change

"For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith." 1 John 5:4

We can't overcome anything without the help of Christ. I was sent this video yesterday and it fit this verse perfectly. When we stop trying to live our lives for ourselves and start living it for Christ we will find what true happiness really means. Turn your problems over to Him, and trust in His word. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvDDc5RB6FQ
Love
1 Corinthians 13:4-13 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
If you know someone who does not know Christ and is not walking in the ways of the Lord go to them in love. If you truly love them you will be honest with them about their future if they die without Christ.

God Bless,
Dustin

The world

'The church's mightiest influence is felt when she is different from the world in which she lives.' A.W. Tozer
Is your church doing the same sinful things as the world, or is your church making a bold stand for Christ? We all are guilty of trying to live on both sides of the fence sometimes. We try to fit in with the crowds but is that the right thing to do? It is not a sin to hang out with a worldly group of people but when you are there do they look at you differently or do you act just like them? When we come to Christ there should be a change in us, we should leave the things of old and despise them. We should be showing others the life we live for Christ is more important than anything else we could ever have. When we live like the world we are telling others that Christ is not good enough for us, that we need something more. Why would someone come to Christ that lives in the ways of the world when they see all these Christians doing the exact same things as themselves? Be bold for Christ, let others see His light shine from you everywhere you go, not just on Sunday morning for an hour. It is a great feeling when people start to act different when you come into a room because you are a bold witness for Jesus Christ. When you light a candle in the middle of the day it doesn't shine very bright. When you light a candle on a moonless night it will shine brightly. On Sunday morning at church we don't shine as bright because of all the other light but when we go out in the world and share our faith in the world our little candle becomes a spot light for the world to see. Remember, you can't sit on the fence of life and have it both ways, satan owns the fence.
Titus 12: 11-13
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ
