Look for the Bright side

The habit of resignation is the root of peace. A godly child has a ring given him by his mother, and he greatly prized it, but on a sudden he unhappily lost his ring, and he cried bitterly. Recollecting himself, he stepped aside and prayed; after which his sister laughingly said to him, “Brother, what is the good of praying about a ring? Will praying bring back your ring?” “No,” said he, “sister, perhaps not, but praying has done this for me, it has made me quite willing to do without the ring if it is God’s will; and is not that almost as good as having it?” When we run into hard times we all want things to go back to being the way they were. God has a purpose for things happening in our lives, we just have to figure out what He wants us to do. We are all guilty of wondering why things happen to us, but what we should be doing is finding out how to use the situation to give glory to God. When you have the joy of Christ in you everything look's a little brighter. Philippians 4:10-13 10 I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

TRIALS

God puts us through situations to mold and shape us into the Christians He wants us to be.
I try to remember this when I come upon a tough situation. Remember, we don't always get what we want, but through Christ we shall get what we need.

Why we complain

Hello everyone, No, I didn't take you off my morning list. I have been very busy lately, but that is still no excuse. In the last few days I have had my house broken into, gone to a wreck in the middle of the night where a young man lost his life, and this morning I was called out to fight a fire where my relatives lost their barn full of farm equipment. So many times in life we think we have it tough. We get stuck in our own little world and don't see the big picture. I was upset to have some things taken from my home but the more I think about it the more I thank God for what I have. My family is OK, I have a place to lay my head at night, and most of all I have the Holy Spirit guiding me every day. No matter how bad things may get in this life, it is a comfort to know that with Christ we can do all things and He will be with us through it all.
