DRINKING

I abstain myself from alcoholic drink in every form, and I think others would be wise to do the same; but of this each one must be a guide unto himself. Charles SpurgeonThis is a subject that most don't like to talk about, but has been put upon my heart to share with you all. It has become acceptable for the youth of this nation to be allowed to drink alcohol. People overlook the problem as kids will be kids and we cant stop them. Another excuse is , we want them to be safe when they drink so we will host parties at our homes so they wont drink and drive. So many will say, it's just alcohol, nobody will get hurt. I have been a Vol. Fire fighter for many years and I am here to tell you that is the biggest lie people tell themselves. I have seen body's of teens crushed and mangled beyond recognition. When I get a call in the middle of the night to go to a wreck the first thing that goes through my mind is , will it be one of my youth or some other teen that I know. Lives of families torn to pieces because of liquid in a bottle. People that have thrown their lives away that had a lot of potential. Other things like unwanted pregnancies are just a few things that can happen. People will still try to justify their actions but what should a Christian do? Yes, it does say that people drank in the Bible, but you will not find a verse where it says you can get drunk. In fact, it says that drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of heaven along with liars and thieves. As a Christian you are to be an example unto others. Even if you just drink once in a while, ask yourself who's watching you. A young person, that can't drink just one, starts because they look up to you and say it must be OK. We can't pick and choose what part of the Bible to follow. No one said being a Christian would be easy. You are either 100% Christian or your not a Christian at all. People say their is not right or wrong answers to life's questions anymore, but I say there is. You can find them all in Gods Holy Word.
We should all ask ourselves, would Jesus be pleased if He say me doing these things. We all sin every day but we should be becoming less sinful everyday if Christ is in us.

REMEMBER, 12,998 PEOPLE DIED IN DRUNK DRIVING WRECKS LAST YEAR ALONE.

Eph 5:8-21
Walk in Light 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit[b]is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says: “ Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
Walk in Wisdom 15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.[c]
