Pray Always

You never heard that a man began to backslide, or that a sober man became a drunkard, through praying too much. Did you ever hear of a person becoming unkind to his wife, ungenerous to the poor, negligent of public worship, or guilty of grievous sin, through being too much in prayer? Prayer is the most important thing you can do every day. So many people only pray when they need something or come across a difficult time in their lives. As Paul wrote, "we should pray without ceasing". When we don't go to God in prayer we are saying that we can handle our everyday lives on our own. I learn everyday that I need God in every second of my life and without Him I am nothing. God tells us to pray so that we will come to Him and need Him in everything we do in our lives. If you haven't started praying everyday, start today. It is not just something you do, it is a one on one conversation with the one that created you!
