Awake

When is revival needed? When carelessness and unconcern keep the people asleep. It is as much the duty of the Church to awaken and work and labor for the men and women of this city as it is the duty of the fire department to rush out when the call sounds. What would you think of the fire department if it slept while the town burned? You would condemn them, and I will condemn you if you sleep and let men and women go to hell. The Church of God is asleep today; it is turned unto a dormitory, and has taken the devil's opiates.-Billy Sunday
Billy Sunday did not cut any corners when he preached. We are all guilty of getting in our comfort zones at times. We get to a certain point in our lives when we think everything is just right.
Just like the fire dept. example in this quote. They may have just bought a brand new truck with all the gear to fight any fire they may come across, but when the town catches on fire they don't want to get their new equipment dirty or damaged. So they stay at the fire station and watch the town burn. Sounds like the churches of today if you ask me. We get all kinds of tools to reach the lost but we stay within the four walls of the church to use them. We are told to seek and save but all we do is sit and stare!
We have the greatest weapon there is to save souls, the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. People think of God as being great and awesome in church. When people step out of church they must think He becomes smaller. God is the same everywhere, that is what we must realize.

What would you say if a doctor went to medical school all his life but did not help a single patient. That is the church of today, when we only site in our churches and don't go into the world and share the saving Grace of Jesus Christ.
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”- Matthew 5:14,16
